Monster Boo-ty Pants

One of my friends is having a monster-themed baby shower for her sister, since it’s near Halloween, and it’s a baby boy, and well, it’s just a fun idea.

I was invited to the party but couldn’t attend, so I decided to make the new little one a bit of something anyway, in the spirit (boo!) of the season – and Monster Pants seemed to fit the bill. My dear friend Wendy had made a pair, so I knew just how adorable they were in person. I had one week to make them. I could do this!

I worked diligently every evening after work, and all weekend whilst entertaining family from out of town, and darned if I didn’t finish on time! I even had time left to read in bed afterward on the last night. I almost had my husband take a picture of that (something that unbelievable required documentation).

As a testament to how much I detest i-cord, I made a single-crochet chain for the drawstring tie.
Rather than put the eyes and teeth on with duplicate stitch, I opted to whipstitch them with felt instead.

I think baby boy is gonna like it. Or his mommy will, anyway. Same thing.
