This one was knit with the results of our first Kool-aid dyeing experiment with my nephew last year. (We dyed a new batch last week; I’ll post more on that later.) He dyed the green and purple skeins, so he got to choose the pattern I made with it.
This is The Teddy Bear that Saved Me, designed and sold by Mad Man Knitting, a guy in Florida making a go of supporting himself through selling hand-knitted bears and his own patterns. The only change I made to the pattern was to do it with stripes, and to knit the arms and legs in the round on DPNs, since I really hate sewing up seams.
It was a quick and easy knit if you’re decent with DPNs. Otherwise, it’s kind of a bear.
